Overflowing Praise

All enjoyment spontaneously overflows into praise...
The world rings with praise-loves praise their beloved,
Readers their favorite poet,
Walkers praising the countryside,
Players praising their favorite game..

Just as people spontaneously praise what they value,
So they spontaneously urge us to join them in praising it:
"Isn't she lovely?
Wasn't it glorious?,
Don't you think that was magnificent?..."

I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because
The praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment;
It is its appointed consummation.
-S.Lewis

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
         I will sing and give praise
  For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
         And Your truth unto the clouds.
 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
         Let Your glory be above all the earth
-Psalms 57:7, 10-11

God's pursuit of praise from us and
Our pursuit of pleasure in Him are one and
The same pursuit.
God's quest to be glorified and
Our quest to be satisfied reach their goal in
One experience:
Our delight in God which overflows in praise.
